Pupil Premium Report 2016/2017

Within the 2016/2017 financial year, schools received £1,320 for pupils in Reception to Year 6 who have been registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years. The total Pupil Premium Funding for SS Peter & Paul’s during the financial year 2016/2017 was £7920. Schools are free to decide how to allocate this funding to best support the raising of attainment for the most vulnerable pupils.

In 2016/2017 the Pupil Premium grant was used in a variety of ways and these included provision of TA support for pupils identified with barriers to learning. The result being that children receive TA support and their readiness for learning is improved and gaps are closed more quickly. Assessments of pupils with specifically identified barriers to learning have taken place and support has been put in place to devise strategies for overcoming emotional or physical distractions to learning.

The majority of identified pupils have made progress and the gap between attainment and progress has been reduced. The school plans to continue with these strategies during the forthcoming 2017/2018 year.

The school is planning to continue with the above strategy for using Pupil Premium Funding and, in collaboration with the Governors, will continue to review the strategy on a termly basis.
